About SBW Scholarships for Refugees in German Universities:


The SBW Berlin Scholarship supports young people from abroad who come from a financially disadvantaged family background and who use the skills they acquire while studying in Germany to promote long-term nonprofit projects, preferably in their home countries.

Scholarships cover undergraduate and master's programs in Berlin and Potsdam based on the student's academic qualifications, personal abilities, and social needs. In general, all scientific and artistic majors can be funded. In special cases, the program also includes vocational training in Berlin or Potsdam.

To apply for a Bachelor's degree, applicants must be in the last year of high school, or fully enrolled in the first, second or third semester at most at a state-recognized university in Germany or abroad. To obtain a master's degree, they must apply shortly before or after obtaining a bachelor's degree.

The SBW Berlin scholarship covers the necessary living expenses for scholarship holders for the duration of the scholarship.

From foreign nationals, whose countries of origin appear to be in particular need of development assistance.
Homeless foreigners
Of the recognized refugees
Their ages are between 18 and 30 years old
Obtaining a grade point average corresponding to a German GPA of at least 2.0
Able to prove that they have not stayed in Germany for more than 18 months before submitting the application
Intend to work in their home country for at least 18 months after graduation
