Description of Bangkok Government Scholarship

Bangkok government scholarships are fully funded scholarships for international students. These scholarships are only offered to masters and doctorates. This scholarship covers 100% of the tuition fee, a monthly stipend and accommodation in the amount of 16,000 baht.

Chulaloongkorn University has played a pioneering role in implementing interactive cooperation with the international community. In order to further develop academic cooperation between Thailand and foreign countries.

Conditions in the Bangkok Government Scholarship

 The duration of the scholarship cannot be extended.

The scholarship recipient is not permitted to delay the scholarship acceptance period once the scholarship has been awarded by the university.

Recipients are not allowed to accept any off-campus work in Thailand for the duration of the scholarship.

Bangkok Government Scholarship Coverage

The Bangkok government scholarships provide the recipient with the following benefits:

Tuition fees (fees / special fees charged by faculty members or the program that students choose are excluded. Advanced arrangement between students and college / program is required).

Monthly stipend and accommodation in the amount of 16,000 baht.

The price of a flight ticket for each leg should not exceed 20,000 baht for students from African countries and 12,000 baht for students from Asian countries. (Students must pay for their tickets and this amount will be reimbursed upon arrival at Chulalongkorn University.

Eligibility Criteria for the Bangkok Government Scholarship

To be eligible for the Bangkok Government Scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:

 Required language: English

Eligible Countries: All world countries

It should be noted that students from ASEAN or non-ASEAN countries, who have been studying in any program at Chulalongkorn University for more than one semester, are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Applicants must have a grade point average of no less than 2.75 for their undergraduate studies and no less than 3.25 for their postgraduate studies.

A minimum TOEFL score of 500 or 173 on a computer and an IELTS score of 5.0 is required.

The applicant must be no more than 35 years old.

Preferred faculty, researchers and academics, who will return to teach / work at their home universities upon graduation from Chulalongkorn University

Choose the international program

Download and fill out the application form from

Applicants must send the completed application form and related documents directly to the college / program of their choice prior to the deadline set by the university's academic affairs office.

Applicants must be screened and recruited by the faculty / program of their choice before submitting their names to the Academic Affairs Office, Chulalongkorn University. All relevant application documents examined by the college / program must arrive at the Academic Affairs Office no later than October 15 2020 for registration in the second semester of the 2020 academic year.

Documents required in the Bangkok Government Scholarship

Bachelor's degree

The applicant must have completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a field related to the field to which they are applying. The degree certificate must be submitted with their application.

The official transcript

An academic transcript issued by the last academic institution the applicant attended, and an official academic transcript must be submitted with their application.

Application form

A completed application form attached to a 1 inch photo.

CV / resume

 Bachelor's degree

graduation certificate.

 A valid passport

A copy of the applicant's passport.

 Recommendation letter / reference letter

Two letters of recommendation from the president, director, or dean of the institution

medical report

A medical certificate confirming the physical examination in a hospital in the applicant's country.
